Kathy Seero

Kathleen Seero grew up sailing on Manhasset Bay on Long Island, NY with her family which then led to a year in the Caribbean. She spent many years crewing in Marblehead and Boston Harbour. For the last 5 years she was the Director of the South Boston Yacht Club Youth Program. Currently, she is fine tuning and racing her Thunderbird 26 out of Savin Hill Yacht Club. Time off the water is spent in her city garden, teaching yoga or trail running with her lab, who also loves to sail.

Philip Zurek

Philip brings sailing experience from an unexpected location: Colorado! He arrived in Boston on the first nice spring day of 2018, went straight to the sailing center, and has been enjoying all that the area has to offer since then. When not cruising around, you can find him teaching (since 2021), Soling racing in the summer, and Frostbite racing in the winter. His goal is to share his knowledge and passion for sailing with every student.

John Mlynczak

John joined BSC as a member in 2021 and started instructing in 2022. Always on the water since he was a child, John enjoys sailing boats of all sizes and enjoys bringing the joy of sailing to others through instructing.

Jonathan Kannair

Joining BSC as a member in 1995, Jonathan has been a BSC instructor for seven seasons. Jonathan believes that anyone can become an accomplished sailor and appreciates that sailing is a physical and intellectual challenge you can do for life. Working with new sailors and helping them to gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue their sailing adventures is something he especially enjoys doing at BSC.

Geoff Rand

Geoff wrote the BSC’s online cruising guide, and is a great person to approach with any questions you may have about cruising in the New England area.

Todd has been sailing Boston Harbor and the Charles River for nearly 30 years.

Peter Whinn

Pete Whinn does startup business stuff for a 9-5 grind but spends evenings and weekends (and the occasional beautiful weekday afternoon, don’t tell his boss) teaching Learn to Sail at the Boston Sailing Center.

Matt Renik

Born and raised in Boston, Mathew has been sailing on the Boston Harbor since he was 12.

Martha Rand

Before coming to the Boston Sailing Center, she worked at the Southport Yacht Club in Maine where she would spend weekends racing her family’s J-27 or her pink and purple turnabout named Dazzle.

Leo Gaskell

Leo has a life-long passion for sailing, and especially for helping other people to get the most out of the sport!
