CRUISING 30 – Boston Sailing Center

The Women's Soling Racing Regatta is back again on Monday, July 25, 2022. Members and Non-Members welcome! Men may crew, women must skipper. We will run several races starting at 6:15pm. Boats are back on the mooring by sunset.

Date: Monday, July 25, 2022
Time: 6:15 start, sailing until sunset. Teams should arrive around 5:00pm to start rigging.
Cost per boat (3 spots): $150 for members, $300 for non-members

The Reggae Party and Island Race is back for another year and we can't wait to celebrate the season with you on Saturday, August 6th! For members wanting to race, the party will be preceded by an Island Race beginning at 4pm, open to all boats in the fleet. Not looking to race? No problem! Just sign up for a party ticket and we will see you at 7pm. The party will be catered by the Jamaica Mi Hungry food truck, feature the AMAZING Conscious Reggae Band (back by popular demand!) and of course have an OPEN BAR.

This is a great, informal day of racing followed by a party back at the Riverboat with your fellow racers.

ISLAND RACE DETAILS

The online sign-up is for the party after the race. To skipper a boat in the race make a boat reservation for the 6th from 2:00-7:00PM and inform the office that you will be racing. You are responsible for providing your own crew, so refer to our crew finder in the online clubhouse if you need an extra hand or two or six!

PARTY DETAILS & SIGNING UP

Tickets are $75 before 5pm on July 24th and include food and open bar. Current members and students can bring guests to this event. You can purchase just one ticket online, or multiple by calling 617-227-4198. Ticket prices will increase to $85 after 5pm on the 24th, so sign up early!

Not planning on racing? No problem! Purchase a party ticket, and we'll see you at 7pm for food, live music, and much deserved revelry.

When you complete your Learn to Sail Course, it will be time to take advantage of your student membership. In order to continue to learn as a new sailor, it is important to spend as much time as possible on the water developing your skills. We encourage you to use your student membership as much as possible.

We know you will be ready, but sometimes students feel overwhelmed with the idea of sailing on their own. We understand, it’s a big step! Often, just being able to meet other students to sail with is all you need to get going. That is why we have developed Student-Member Coaching nights.

Sign up through the office to join us on a Friday evening from 5-8pm. We will form teams of 2 or 3 and go for a sail in the inner harbor. There will be an instructor coaching from one of the motor boats who will offer guidance on rigging, sail trim, and returning to the mooring.

There is no cost for this program but you must have an active student membership to participate. Contact the office to set up your student membership once you have completed your Learn to Sail course. We will see you on the water soon!

Members of all levels come down and casually sail together, then meet back at the Riverboat for brunch and refreshments.

Member Brunches are open to current members, students who have completed at least two water sessions, and one guest. Sign up online for one ticket. Please give us a call if you wish to purchase two tickets. Any member attending may be asked to skipper a boat.

Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance, as last month's event sold out.

Knot confident in your knot tying? Members and crew can join this upcoming seminar to practice knots, line handling, and dock tie ups with a Boston Sailing Center instructor. Tighten up your skills on your basic sailing knots and maybe try some new ones to impress your crew! On the docks, you will practice critical line handling skills with an emphasis on safety and industry best practices.

Cancelation/Rescheduling Policy:
Please be aware we will need at least 2 days notice of cancelation to receive a refund less a 3% processing fee or to reschedule into another course. Please contact the sailing center with any questions!
