Alejandro Amezcua

Alejandro grew up sailing in Larchmont, New York on the Long Island Sound. While earning his Bachelor’s, Alejandro competed on the Connecticut College Sailing Team. He then became the sailing director at the Huguenot Yacht Club in New York and has been coaching for 6 years.

He moved to Boston to pursue a Master’s degree in Accounting at Northeastern University and started coaching at BSC in 2025. Along with coaching, he also competes in Summer Soling Racing and Frostbite Racing on the J/24s. Outside of BSC, he is usually right back on the water looking for any opportunity to go racing. He enjoys teaching sailors of all experience levels and helping them become more confident and comfortable on the water.

Fun fact: despite being from New York, he grew up a huge Bruins fan!
