The date for this event will be on October 1st, 2023.
We are happy to announce that the Wade Edwards Regatta is back this season with a new format. The event will be a long-distance race around some of the Harbor Islands in Solings. Teams will be randomly assigned a boat and racing sails will be used.
Course options will be available on the BSC website. The course to be sailed will be announced at the skippers’ meeting. The start will be in the inner harbor. A windward/leeward around portable marks may be added before sailing the course indicated on the course chart.
The Wade Edwards Trophy will be awarded to the top finisher.
Contact the office to sign up. The registration fee is $180 per boat which includes 3 tickets for food and refreshments, and 3 Wade Edwards Regatta shirts. The deadline to request shirt sizes is September 7th. After that teams can select from the sizes on hand. See below for a detailed schedule of events. This event is open initially to members only.
We will also be holding a less formal island race for anyone else that would like to participate on that day. The race is open to any type of boat in the fleet, just make a reservation online and let us know that you will be racing! As with our regular series of Island Races there are no prizes awarded (just bragging rights). All are welcome to attend the post-race gathering. Sign up for food and refreshments below.
The alternative date for this event will be on October 1st, 2023. For any reason that we may need to cancel, we will be holding the event the following week on Sunday, October 1st.
Please register at least 48 hours in advance, as these events tend to sell out and we need a headcount for food/drink.
