COVID-19 Member Policies

The Boston Sailing Center has developed the following guidelines in accordance with state and local authorities to ensure safe use of the facilities this season. Our goal is to protect our employees, members and families, while allowing the use of our facilities.

This page posts updates to the previously published policies and procedures document. We expect these to be updated frequently as we move towards re-opening fully. Members must comply with and stay up to date with COVID-19 Guidance posted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in addition to the below.

All members and students must sign the waiver electronically before being allowed to book or use of BSC boats or attend a class. This waiver stays on file for subsequent classes and memberships, so you only need to sign it once.

Do not come to the Boston Sailing Center if you have symptoms, someone in your household has Covid-19, or you have been asked to self-isolate or quarantine by your doctor or a health official.

Masks are required when inside the riverboat. If you are not vaccinated, masks are also required on the docks, riverboat, launch and during instruction or checkouts.

The classrooms and downstairs bathrooms will remain a staff only area for now. If the office staff is already helping others, please wait outside until they exit.

There are two bathrooms available on the upper deck. Vaccinated Members and guests may gather on the upper deck until closing time. On race nights the upper deck will be available to racers until 1 hour after sunset.

Please submit maintenance requests from your phone before leaving BSC using this link. QR codes are also posted on the gangways to access the link. If an issue is severe enough that the boat should not be sailed before it is addressed, please inform a member of staff.

These guidelines may be updated as conditions change.
